Softball Tournament Weekend

Softball: Saturday is an all day affair jam packed with festivities for everyone. 14 Co-Ed teams begin playing at 8a.m. The teams consist of 6 guys and 4 girls on the field, and are separated into two brackets. Each Bracket plays a round robin, thus guaranteeing each team of at least six games. The top two teams from each bracket then play a mini playoff with the winners advancing to the championship game. The teams come from various areas of the state and while the play gets competitive, all teams exhibit sportsmanship while remembering the real cause of why they are there.

Good Music: At 8 a.m. local DJ Stump sets up and begins playing music for the entire day. Later in the afternoon, live music will be provided by local live bands who donate their time and effort.

5k Angel Run: Registration for the Fun Run/Walk begins at 7:30am at the ballpark in Fordoche, with the run beginning at 8:00am. The Fun Run will begin and end at the ballpark, where all the other festivities are going on. Individuals and Teams may enter. No entry required, but we ask for a $30 voluntary donation per person. This includes a free lunch and $5 worth of drink tickets for each participant. There will be awards given for best team t-shirt, and best individual costume. Runners and teams are encouraged to wear pink or dress up in their best angel costume. The donation can be given via the PayPal link on this website or by cash or check. Click here to register!

Good Food: In addition to the music and games, many come just to sample the wide variety of foods and beverages prepared by some of the best local Cajun chefs around. This party wouldn't be complete without the food. In South Louisiana, we have some of the best food on the planet, and you can certainly find a wide variety of food at the tournament. Jambalaya, Pasta-laya, White Beans, Fried Cracklins, Hamburgers, Nachos and a Sweet Shop are just a few of the items on sale. If you are interested in cooking something, let us know, and we will give you an opportunity to showcase you cooking skills. In the past we have accommodated large orders of plate lunches for businesses or work crews at plants, oil rigs, etc. Please contact us in advance if you are interested so that we can work with you on this matter. If the order is big enough, we will have someone deliver it to your work site.

Live Auction: In the afternoon there is a live auction orchestrated by a fantastic and entertaining auctioneer, sure to get the crowd involved. Amazing auction items, donated by our valued partners and sponsors include one of a kind handmade items such as industrial steel Bar-B-Que pits, patio furniture, swings, rocking chairs, cookware, and local artwork. Businesses have donated shotguns, guided hunts & fishing trips, autographed LSU and Saints Memorabilia, LSU Baseball & Football Game Tickets and gift certificates to restaurants or other businesses. If you are interested in donating something to be auctioned, or you are a business interested in donating an item for the auction, please contact us. Nothing will be turned down, and all items donated are tax deductible as well.
